Two halves of the same trade
One half is the steel that holds a building up, and you never see it again once the plasterboard is on. The other half is the metalwork you look at and touch every day. Both are welding, and we do both.

Steel beams and frames
You want to knock a wall through, or take the back of the house off. Something has to hold up what was sitting on it.
A steel beam over the opening, which your builder will call an RSJ. A steel frame the whole extension gets built around, which is a portal frame. A new floor inside a space you already have, which is a mezzanine.
Balconies and staircases
The drop at the side of the stairs, or the edge of a balcony, made safe without losing the view.
The panel that stops you going over is called a balustrade. Glass, stainless steel or painted steel.
Gates and railings
A gate that shuts properly, hangs straight, and does not drop on its hinges.
Driveway gates, security gates, railings, handrails, and the traditional scrolled ironwork people call wrought iron.
Repairs and one-offs
Something metal is broken, or the thing you need does not exist yet and has to be made.
Welding done where the metal already is, steel repairs, exhausts, locking wheel nuts, and one-offs made from a photo or a measurement.
